I love music, I only wish I knew more about it. My genre of choice? Alternative/Indie & Christian, although I love anything with a catchy lyric, tune or beat. I’ve recently began a quest to research some of the classic bands, like the Creedance Clearwater Revival, Eagles, Rolling Stones. But one of my favorite things to do is to go to iTunes and search for new artists and bands. I’ve recently stumbled on Matt Nathanson, Sara Bareilles, The Afters & Josh Wilson.
Here’s some of my personal favorites:

Steven Curtis Chapman: There is no other musician I admire and respect more than SCC. God has used his music to speak to my heart in such an amazing way, and thankfully, I got to meet him personally last spring to tell him that. Since then, he’s dealt with incredible personal tragedy with the loss of his daughter, Maria. Through it all, he’s trusted God, despite unspeakable pain. His music has even more meaning to me now that I’ve seen his music lived out loud.

Coldplay: They just keep getting better and better. I was absolutely blown away by their latest album Viva La Vida. I literally played it nonstop for 3 weeks. My favorite song on the album (if I have to pick one) is the title track, Viva La Vida. It encompasses my new-found love, rock & strings. There’s just something about that combo that I absolutely love. Other than this album, my other favorites of theirs are Yellow, Clocks and Speed of Sound.
Other Favorites: The Afters, Jackson Waters, Gavin DeGraw, KT Tunstall, Daniel Powter, Graham Colton, John Mayer, OneRepublic, Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Maroon 5, NeedToBreathe, MercyMe, The Beatles, Matt Nathanson, Five For Fighting, Michael Bublé.
